The ADI-MBR process is an activated sludge system that uses a physical membrane for liquid-solids separation utilizing Kubota flat plate cross-flow membrane technology. The ADI-MBR system has a shorter hydraulic retention time (smaller footprint), but a longer solids retention time (better soluble COD removal), than conventional activated sludge systems.

System monitoring is minimal, as the process operates automatically. ADI provides a complete turnkey system, start-up, operator training, and follow-up.

Benefits of membrane technology:

  • Superior effluent quality (BOD<5mg/L, TSS=N.D.)
  • Compact, small footprint
  • Low sludge production
  • Simple to operate and maintain
  • Concentrated sludge is wasted directly from the aeration tank
  • Reduce or eliminate disinfection
  • Low effluent nutrient levels
  • Energy-saving

Benefits of ADI-MBR membrane system:

  • Low fouling rate
  • Easily cleaned, as infrequently as semi-annually
  • Resistant to delamination and tearing
  • Low operating and maintenance costs
  • Over 1600 installations using this membrane technology worldwide
  • Long membrane life
